Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has
announced it will launch its first UK route with a non-stop service between
Gatwick and Singapore via Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport from March 2022.
The new service will commence with a limited
Gatwick-Bangkok-Singapore service between 16 and 30 December. Flights will operate
on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing Gatwick at 2205 and arriving in
Bangkok at 1610 the following day local time, then leaving Bangkok at 1710 and
landing in Singapore at 2045 local time. Return flights depart Singapore at
1135 and from Bangkok at 1405, arriving in Gatwick at 2005 local time. This
service will operate again from 22-24 March 2022.
Then, from 27 March, flights will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, departing Gatwick at 2205 and landing in Bangkok at 1610 the following day, then will fly on to Singapore at
1705. The return schedule will change to a 1200 departure from Singapore and a
1430 take-off from Bangkok, landing in Gatwick at 2005.
Scoot said this will initially be a seasonal service, but
the airline will conduct a review and potentially increase frequency based on
demand and regulatory approval.
All flights will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner
featuring the carrier’s economy and ScootPlus cabins. Passengers will be able
to earn and redeem KrisFlyer loyalty points when flying on Scoot services.
