Ryanair has announced that it will operate its first domestic routes within Poland from March 2014.
The Irish airline will operate daily flights from Warsaw Modlin airport to Gdansk and Wroclaw.
Both routes are currently served by LOT Polish Airlines and Ryanair claims its tickets will cost half what the local carrier is currently charging.
Ryanair’s CEO Michael O'Leary said: “In 2014, Ryanair will operate more than 30 routes to/from Warsaw Modlin and we expect our traffic to grow to 1.5 million passengers.
“In the last two years Ryanair has grown to be Poland's number one airline carrying more passengers than LOT.
“These first two domestic routes will deliver significantly lower air fares for Polish consumers, and finally free them from LOT's high fares on domestic routes.”
Ryanair will deploy new Boeing 737 aircraft on both routes.
The airline is also planning new routes from Warsaw Modlin to Alicante and Thessaloniki from April 2014.
Earlier this week, Ryanair agreed to accept American Express cards on its website for the first time in more than a decade.
