Ryanair will launch a daily service to Sofia in summer 2016.
The no-frills airline will start the service in May next year. It’s Ryanair’s second service to Bulgaria following Plodiv which operates four-times weekly from Stansted.
Ryanair spokesperson Robin Kiely said: “Sofia is another key capital city airport and our second in Bulgaria, as we continue to grow Europe’s largest route network, with more routes and flights and improved schedules.”
Earlier this week, Ryanair has hailed its new approach to customer service as it posted record passenger traffic numbers.
