Ryanair is to add 22 new routes from the UK for the winter 2013-14 season as it decides to ground fewer aircraft.
The no-frills airline will add a total of 88 routes across Europe as it intends to run more services during the coming winter.
Many of the new UK services will be to traditional “winter-sun” destinations such as southern Spain, the Canary Islands and Cyprus.
More business travel-orientated routes will include: East Midlands-Cork, Edinburgh-Marseilles, Stansted-Nuremberg, Stansted-Strasbourg and Manchester-Krakow.
This increase comes as Ryanair has decided to cut the number of aircraft it intends to ground for next winter. The airline grounded 80 aircraft for winter 2012/13.
Ryanair spokesman Robin Kiely said: “We will ground 20 less aircraft this winter, resulting in our biggest ever winter schedule.”
