China’s fourth largest carrier, Hainan Airlines, is launching a direct Manchester to Beijing service from next summer.
The route will be Manchester’s first direct service to mainland China.
A spokesperson for Manchester airport confirmed the airline will operate the route four-times a week from June.
Full details of the route will officially announced tomorrow when China president Xi Jingping, who is on a state visit of the UK, attends an event at Manchester airport.
