Flybe has announced the introduction of 17 new routes for the summer 2016 season including eight from its new base at Doncaster Sheffield.
As well as the new routes, Flybe said it had retimed many of its services as well as adding 220 extra weekly frequencies on its most popular routes for the season which runs from March 27 to September 30, 2016. This includes adding extra capacity on 20 key business travel routes.
Flybe will fly from Doncaster Sheffield to Alicante, Amsterdam, Berlin, Jersey, Malaga, Faro, Newquay and Paris Charles de Gaulle next summer.
Other new flights include London City to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Rennes, Birmingham to Knock and Rotterdam, Aberdeen to Newquay, Cardiff to Verona, Edinburgh to Knock, and Norwich to Alicante and Malaga.
Flybe will also operate three new winter 2015-16 routes for the first time in summer 2016: Edinburgh-Liverpool, Manchester-Rotterdam and Southampton-Dusseldorf.
In another move, the Gatwick-Newquay route will increase capacity by using a larger 118-seat Embraer E-195 jet instead of a 78-passenger Q400 turboprop.
Chief commercial officer Paul Simmons said: “Our main focus in creating next summer’s schedule has been not only to introduce new routes but, just as importantly, to further increase the frequency of our flights on many of our most established business routes.
“We have done this to enhance our appeal to those whose travel is especially time-sensitive.”
