Ethiopian Airlines has announced it will add flights between Manchester and Addis Ababa from 1 December.
The service will operate four times a week, departing Addis Ababa at 0045, landing in Manchester at 0655. Return flights take off at 1900 and arrive back in the Ethiopian capital at 0600 the following morning.
Ethiopian Airlines says the service will initially transit via Brussels, but the carrier has not given details of whether the flights may eventually be non-stop.
Flights will be operated by a B787 Dreamliner with business and economy classes.
Andrew Cowan, CEO of Manchester airport, commented: “The introduction of this route underlines the critical role Manchester airport plays in connecting the people and businesses of the North to the world’s most important markets.”
