Emirates has announced a new codeshare deal with regional airline Flybe which will cover 25 routes around the UK.
The agreement will see Emirates’ EK code added to Flybe flights including 13 new destinations for Emirates including Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey and Newquay.
The deal will also cover Flybe flights from three Emirates’ gateways in the UK: Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham.
Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ chief commercial officer, said: “Our new codeshare agreement with Flybe will provide our passengers with increased choice, flexibility and ease of connection to different cities within the UK to and from Dubai, ultimately offering a smoother, more convenient travel experience.
“Together with Flybe, we are taking more people to more places and opening up new UK destinations to people around the world. It’s an important partnership as we continue to expand the destinations available to Emirates' passengers.”
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s chief commercial officer, added: “This new codeshare agreement with Emirates is yet another important milestone and an exciting development in the continued growth of Flybe.”
The two airlines hope that the codeshare will be in place for a July launch. Emirates already has 14 codeshare partners around the globe including Qantas and Jet Blue.
