Transatlantic joint venture partners Delta and Virgin Atlantic hosted 300 guests at an opening party for their co-owned lounge bar NY-LON, at London’s O2.
The party featured live entertainment from hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash, and rising soul star Lion Babe. Guests were served signature cocktails and food from NY-LON’s menu.
The bar, designed to reflect a VIP airport departure lounge, is open to the public and available for private corporate event hire.
Before the party, Delta senior vice president Nathaniel Pieper told BBT the airline would consider expanding its new corporate compensation scheme to international flights.
Virgin Atlantic and Delta started their joint venture in 2014. It currently operates 10 London Heathrow-New York flights per day; eight to JFK and two to Newark. Delta recently announced new routes from Heathrow and Edinburgh as part of its transatlantic JV agreement.
