Delta is to appoint Ed Bastian as CEO following the announcement that current head Richard Anderson has retired.
Bastian, who is Delta’s president, will start the role on May 2 with Anderson moving to executive chairman of the airline’s board of directors.
Delta has also announced that executive VP of global sales Steve Sear, who was named in BBT’s 2016 Hotlist, will lead the Atlantic, Asia-Pacific and Latin America organisations alongside his current role.
Dan Carp will step down as non-executive chairman and remain on the board of directors of Delta.
