Cathay Pacific has restarted services from the UK to Hong Kong after the territory’s government lifted the ban on flights.
Hong Kong is lifting the ban on flights from nine countries on Friday (1 April), including the UK, France and the US, with Cathay’s first flight from London Heathrow departing on Thursday (31 March) for arrival in Hong Kong on 1 April.
Cathay will also resume flights from Manchester to Hong Kong on Sunday (3 April) as it continues to review its schedule for the coming weeks.
“With the recent adjustments to the flight-specific suspension mechanism, we are actively resuming more flights for our customers starting from 1 April,” said the airline.
“We have added additional flights from Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, London Heathrow, Sydney and Tokyo Narita to our April schedule.”
Hong Kong is also lifting its airport transit ban on 1 April allowing passengers to connect on to flights to other destinations.
According to Cathay Pacific’s latest schedule update, flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Hong Kong are currently due to resume on 2 May.
