British Airways is to launch flights from London City airport to Dusseldorf.
The service will operate three times per day from September 1 using a 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft.
The route is being targeted at business travellers as Dusseldorf is one of Germany’s major business and financial centres.
Luke Hayhoe, BA’s general manager commercial at London City, said: “We have launched a number of new leisure routes from London City in the past couple of years.
“Now we are very excited to be going to a great business city like Dusseldorf which offers significant trade links with the city of London.”
