British Airways is to increase capacity from London City for summer 2016 by adding new frequencies on existing routes from the airport.
The airline is to add 14 extra services from London City after announcing that it will base another Embraer 190 aircraft at the airport from next summer.
The 98-seat E190 will arrive in May and raise BA’s London City fleet to 25 aircraft.
The new aircraft will allow BA to increase capacity to Dusseldorf by 50 per cent. The airline will also add three extra weekly services to Nice; two extra to Faro, Florence, Ibiza and Angers; and one extra to Quimper, Venice and Palma in Majorca. These services will operate between June and September.
Luke Hayhoe, BA’s general manager commercial and customer at London City, said: “The addition of the extra aircraft means we are able to meet the demands of our customers at London City who want more flights and a great schedule.”
BA will operate more than 700 flights per week in summer 2016 to 30 domestic, European and US destinations.
