Amadeus has partnered with content aggregator Accesrail so its agents can book flights and rail with a bus connection on the same screen.
The partnership offers one link with 18 rail and bus operators across 26 countries bookable on the same screen via Amadeus’ Air-Rail display.
Amadeus said this link also allows railways to “broaden their reach” in a key sales channel and increase revenues.
Accesrail’s content means agencies can offer Deutsche Bahn stand-alone services in Germany and National Express bus routes in the UK. It will also offer routes such as London Heathrow-Bristol with Great Western Railway and Madrid-Barcelona with Spanish Renfe.
Thomas Drexler, director rail and ground travel at Amadeus, said: “Amadeus and Accesrail laid the tracks for door-to-door travel nearly 20 years ago by introducing the first rail and bus options to the travel agency channel.
“Today, this partnership reinforces this commitment as travel agencies can compare and contrast 18 ground options with air for the same city-pair, offering travellers exponential choice and visibility throughout their journey to enhance their experience.”
