Shangri-La is to enter the Japanese hotel market. The premium Asian brand plans to open its first hotel in Tokyo with a target opening date of March 1 2009.
The Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo will occupy the top 11 floors of the 37-storey Marunouchi Trust Tower Main Building, currently under construction. The property's 204 guestrooms will average 50 sq m in size and will include 20 junior suites, three executive suites and one top floor presidential suite.
Located in the Marunouchi district, by Tokyo Central railway station, the hotel will be ideally situated with excellent connections to both of Tokyo's major airports, and also the world-famous bullet train - 'Shinkansen'.
