O’Callaghan Hotels has announced the details of a €100 million investment programme across its portfolio of four-star hotels, which includes properties in Dublin, Gibraltar and the UK.
The group’s Dublin properties – the Alexander (pictured), the Davenport and the Stephen’s Green – will each be updated in a €30 million phased transformation project. The Alexander will be renamed the Alex and work to refurbish all areas of the 130-room hotel will be completed later this month. Refurbishment at the other two properties will begin before the end of the year.
A further significant investment is being made on the Eliott Hotel in Gibraltar, while O’Callaghan recently opened a new, luxury 155-room property called Tamburlaine in Cambridge.
Eoin Likely, CFO of O’Callaghan Hotels, said the investment is intended to reposition the group among Dublin’s high-end service providers. “This significant investment programme will transform our Dublin hotels, enhancing all areas of our business to deliver an entirely new experience for our guests.”
