London”s lavish banqueting and meeting venue New Connaught Rooms reopened on Wednesday October 4 to a party hosted by the owners Choice Hotels Europe.
The venue has benefited from a ”1m ($1.87m) makeover and boasts 29 separate function rooms.
ABTN attended the launch party, which showcased world cuisine from head chef Andy Silverman, casino night, a disco and a tour of the rooms. The 29 rooms are air conditioned and have been restyled along with an updated colour scheme. The function rooms, which the venue said have stood the test of time, have retained their grand opulent features.
A special Meetings Focus package is on offer, which comes with a designated meetings coordinator as well as modern technological equipment for use by guests.
Venue spokesperson Claudia Kellerman told ABTN: ”According to the UKCMS report, bookings for unique venues have doubled this year, with over 17% of association organisers now choosing a one-off venue for their event, compared to 8% in 2005.
”We are hoping to capitalise on this trend because we are an influential player in the mid-market conference and events market in London. We have ensured the restoration will enable us to take advantage of this trend to become a market leader in the central London meetings market, while at the same time offering excellent value for money.”
