Millennium Hotels and Resorts has expanded its M Social brand with the soft opening of a new property in Auckland, New Zealand. It follows the launch of M Social Singapore last year.
The 190-room hotel features five room categories, including Social, Social View, Social Club, Social Tribe and Social Tribe View. There are also two suite categories – Harbour and Ocean. Each floor has its own theme based around elements of local culture, such as fauna, marine life and literature.
Guests in Social Club rooms or a suite have access to the Social Lounge, which features communal workstations, individual tables and facilities including printers, stationery and other essentials.
The hotel’s restaurant, Beast & Butterflies, offers casual all-day dining with an outdoor terrace and bar, while an on-site delicatessen serves salads, cured meats and bakery items, as well as coffee. Meeting and event spaces are available and are inclusive of technology, with room for up to 50 delegates.
Millennium says technology is a focus point of the hotel, with self-check-in kiosks in addition to a traditional reception desk, smart TVs in every guest room and a media wall that displays local information such as transportation timetables, weather forecasts and details of activities.
The hotel will mark its official grand opening in December.
