Hotel chain Kempinski is continuing its rapid expansion into China with the opening of two new hotel properties this month. One hotel will open in Urumqi (pictured above) and the other, in Shenzhen, has now opened (pictured below).The hotels will boost Kempinski”s portfolio in the country from seven to nine. The chain revealed that a further six hotels will open in China by 2009.
The Kempinski Hotel Urumqi is in the capital of Xinjiang Uygur in the west. It holds 295 rooms and dedicated female-only rooms are available, as are executive floors, which cater solely to business travellers. All rooms boast free broadband connection. The hotel will also open with three restaurants.
There are two ballrooms, each holding 500 guests and three meeting rooms. A gym and wellness area and an indoor pool will be unveiled next year. Room prices start at ”54 ($101).
The Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen in the south coastal area of Guangdong overlooking Shenzhen Bay and is 30 minutes by road to Shenzhen Bao”an International Airport.
The hotel holds 390 rooms with super king beds, free broadband access and flat screen TVs. All suite rooms have in-bath TVs. Again this hotel holds executive floors, one of which is dedicated for female business travellers. All executive floors offer butler service and a private lounge serving snacks and drinks all day.
A business centre holds four meeting rooms. A grand ballroom has capacity for 800 people and can be converted into nine separate function rooms. A wellness centre, beauty salon, gym, indoor pool and outdoor tennis court are included. The price of a room begins at ”90 ($169) including breakfast.
