Ibis, Accorhotels’ economy brand, has completed the introduction of its new guest welcome programme across all Ibis, Ibis Styles and Ibis Budget hotels in the UK.
The new approach is focused on mobile technology, with employees using devices to access the information they need for everything from check-in to housekeeping and breakfast. Ibis says its FOLS mobile software gives staff the freedom to interact with guests and approach them rather than waiting behind a desk.
Ibis says the technology makes room for online fast check-in and check-out capability, as well as opening space for more retail, social or food and drink options.
Karelle Lamouche, senior VP for sales and marketing, distribution and revenue management at Accorhotels UK & Ireland, said removing the traditional check-in desk environment gives employees “more opportunity to offer great customer service”. “Guests’ expectations are changing as they seek more social, interactive hospitality experiences with higher levels of customer service.”
