European hospitality platform Edyn has appointed Steven Haag
as managing director of SACO, one of the UK’s largest serviced apartment
providers. Haag joins from hospitality start-up Sonder, where he was general
manager of the UK and Ireland.
During his two-and-a-half years at Sonder, Haag transformed the
UK and Ireland into the company’s best-performing region globally, signing more
than 700 rooms and taking its team from four to more than 100 across offices in
London, Dublin and Edinburgh.
Edyn has tasked Haag with leading SACO’s transformation and
European expansion. He will lead on growth opportunities in key locations
across the UK and the continent via leases, site development and the purchase
of existing assets. The brand says it is hoping to capitalise on its proposition
as an extended-stay alternative with travellers expected to make fewer but
longer trips.
Last month SACO’s sister brand Locke announced plans for
international expansion, with new openings in the works in the UK, Germany,
Ireland, Portugal and Copenhagen over the next two years.
