Luxury hospitality company Cheval Collection has announced
it will expand in Scotland with the signing of two properties in Edinburgh due
to rebrand from July 2020.
The company will brand and operate two historic properties
in the city following a deal signed today between Cheval Collection MD Mohammed
S Almarzooqi and Chris Stewart, CEO of the Chris Stewart Group, which owns and
developed the properties.
From 1 July, the Edinburgh Grand and Old Town Chambers will
become Cheval Residences, adding a further 100 new apartments to the company’s
existing portfolio of 512 apartments across eight London properties.
Cheval The Edinburgh Grand is located in St Andrew Square
with a tram station outside the residence and Waverley train station a
three-minute walk away. It offers a selection of one and two-bedroom
apartments, as well as a three-bedroom penthouse apartment located on the
seventh floor that can also be booked for private events (pictured). The property also offers
onsite cocktail bar The Register Club and a CaveFit gym.
Meanwhile, Cheval Old Town Chambers currently features
studio, one and two-bedroom apartments with a three-bedroom penthouse suite,
with a further 25 keys due to open in 2021. The property is opposite St Giles
Cathedral and also features an onsite gym and a three-level, two-bedroom
medieval townhouse with a private entrance.
The expansion follows on from Cheval Collection’s 2018
announcement of its intent to grow its portfolio outside of London. The company
operates two portfolios – Residences and Maison, the first of which is due to
open in Dubai in 2022.
CEO George Westwell said: “These will be our first
properties outside London and a huge step in our ever-evolving journey and
ambition to become the pre-eminent leader in luxury serviced apartment
accommodation worldwide for any length of stay.”
