Carlson Hotels Worldwide has added 23 properties to its global portfolio. Fifteen hotels were added in June and July, and a further 8 in August. Carlson Country Inns & Suites has gained the majority of the acquisitions, with 12 properties throughout the US and one in Ontario, Canada.
New to Carlson”s Radisson chain is the Hotel Martinique in New York, the Hotel Carteret in New Jersey (see above) and the Jass Hotel Khajuraho in India. Radisson SAS also has three new hotels, in Ireland, Switzerland, and Tunisia. Park Plaza now has the Hotel & Conference Centre in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Park Inn has added a hotel in California and one in Hungary.
In addition Carlson Hotels Worldwide has developed a more customer-focused strategy. Kevin Hanstad has been appointed vice president of Customer Research & Insights, Jim Grimshaw has been appointed vice president of Guest Experience & Brand Standards. Bret Smith, who used to head the Development & Construction department, is now vice president of Product & Design.
Carlson Hotels president Yvonne La Penotiere said: ”we are taking a holistic look at how our guests experience our hotels. With solid data to drive our decisions, we will develop new prototypes for Radisson and evolve our older Country Inns & Suites".
