Virgin Atlantic unveiled a three-year growth plan which aims at capturing a greater share of the business travel market.
It wants to increase its number of business travellers by “at least” 10% in the next year with products tailored towards the premium market.
The airline said it would be opening new business routes and increasing the frequency on existing routes.
This included a new service to Dubai and a fourth daily service between London and New York. Its Upper Class Suite will also be available on all routes.
The airline will also put more emphasis on DIY check-in either online or at the airport as well as speeding up check in and boarding processes at Heathrow when Terminal Three is re-vamped over the next three years.
Steve Ridgway, ceo of Virgin Atlantic, said the carriers aimed to deliver exactly what its customers wanted "a seamless service with the privacy they need."
Amadeus signs car rental deals
Travel distribution and technology company Amadeus has signed deals with two car rental companies, Europcar and Avis Europe.
Under the agreements, Amadeus e-Travel Management (Aergo) gives the car companies effective direct links to their customers through their TMC's back office.
Jerome Destors, commercial director of Amadeus e-Travel, said the new functionality, e-Direct Connect for Cars would allow corporates to retain full access to the car companies' content while the booking would be integrated within the TMC's back office.
He said that TMCs would be able to offer e-Direct Connect to its customers and view their bookings made through this link.
