MANCHESTER AIRPORT has made a ”4,000 out of court settlement to a passenger after staff took a photo of him without permission. Whilst some airlines demand proof of identity when checking in this is not the law. Manchester Airport, so it seems, was taking pictures without consent, breaking data protection rules. It seems that the passenger refused to pose and was forcibly taken to immigration where he was photographed against his will. The airport has now issued leaflets telling passengers of their rights relating to photographs.
