Online travel and expense management company KDS has signed a global deal with Hertz to give its customers direct access to the car rental company's reservation system.
Hertz signed a similar deal with European software company Traveldoo last month.
Brian Kennedy, Hertz' executive vp sales and marketing, said the agreement was aimed at the “new type of traveller who wants to take more control over his booking, one who is internet savvy and who is looking for the best interactivity in the marketplace.”
Stephane Donders, senior vp at KDS, said: “One of KDS's key strategic goals is to provide direct links to major travel industry suppliers thus offering corporations the maximum freedom in choice of suppliers and distribution channels they wish to use when booking business travel online.
“We are pleased that Hertz, which was our first car rental partner to sign an agreement with us, has renewed and extended its partnership with KDS.”

Brian Conway, Galileo's vp airline services, said: “Content is key to our agency customers and access to that content in an effective way is critical.
“We are delighted to be able to deliver again this essential customer requirement.”
Paul Gregorowitsch, executive vp KLM, said: “The agency distribution channel continues to play a pivotal role in our overall strategy and our agreement with Galileo enables us to continue to serve this channel at the highest level of content.”
