Long serving Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) executive Liliana Frigerio has left the company. Ms Frigerio was appointed the company's executive vp global account management and solutions only last September.
Ms Frigerio, regarded as one of the most powerful women in the business travel industry in Europe and the recipient of many awards and honours for her work, joined CWT in 1990 having previously worked for Nestle.
She rose through the agency, becoming its executive vp in charge of accounts management and solutions EMEA before promotion to the global role last year.
Her new job gave her worldwide responsibility for overseeing Carlson's corporate clients, reporting directly to Hubert Joly, worldwide president and ceo.
Her departure is understood to be one of a number of changes in senior management at CWT.
Martin Warner, executive vp for global sales and marketing, adds Ms Frigerio's responsibilities to his role.
The two were part of a three-strong team charged by Mr Joly last year to “further expand CWT's relationships with global companies of various sizes and deploy common tools around the world.”
Jim Tweedie, appointed executive vp Northern Europe in 2002, moves up to become executive vp account management EMEA.
Richard Lovell, who was promoted to chief operating officer EMEA at the same time as Ms Frigerio was given her new job, will act as caretaker for Mr Tweedie's former post until a suitable successor is found.
