Travel technology company Amadeus has launched an e-voucher product for car hire in partnership with Avis, Europcar and Hertz.
It claimed the electronic voucher would end the need for time consuming paper work and form filling for car companies, agents and customers. Each booking would have an electronic voucher number which the agent would call up when the customer arrived to collect the car.
Elaine Seeto, Amadeus's UK and Ireland director of marketing, said the new scheme would saver agents time and help them maximise revenue from car bookings.

AEA unveils emissions control policy
A Single European Sky could cut carbon dioxide emissions from aircraft in Europe by up to 12%, the Association of European Airlines (AEA) said.
The call for a Single European Sky was part of the Association's four point plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions in aviation in the continent.
The three other points in its Emissions Containment Policy were continuing efficient manufacture of aircraft and engines, “best practice” maintenance of aircraft and trading emissions rights.
