The deal for Alitalia to stave off bankruptcy has finally been sealed with the Italian national carrier, the unions and the Italian government all agreeing the final details.
The agreement opens the way for the much troubled airline to receive a €400m loan which will keep it in business until the New Year and give its survival plan a chance to work.
Holtzman to retire
Nancy Holtzman, executive director of ACTE since 1997, has announced that she will retire at the end of the year.
Tempelhof reprieve
Tempelhof Airport in Berlin which was due to close at the end of this month, has won a temporary reprieve. A German court ruled the 81-year-old airport should stay open but for how long is not clear. The closure is opposed by carriers which use the airport, one of whom said the airport owner, BFG had not followed the correct procedures to shut it.
LOT float
Polish national carriers LOT is planning to float on the Warsaw Stock Exchange early next year. It chief executive Marek Grabiak said a public share offering was the best way to raise cash for the carrier. LOT made a €11m loss last year.

Hotel chain Marriott International has launched a new website for its preferred agents offering online commission statements, online commission searches and special payment facilities in selected currencies.
Radius deal with TRX
Global agency Radius has signed an agreement with IT company TRX for the latter's CORREX automated quality control and auto-ticketing solution. It will serve the mid-office function for Radius's Global Technology Platform which offers end to end solutions for travel management.
