Travel commerce platform Travelport has signed a multi-year agreement with Qantas that includes integration into the airline’s recently announced NDC offering, Qantas Distribution Platform (QDP).
Qantas will join Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding merchandising solution, giving connected travel agencies access to images of cabins and in-flight meals, as well as the ability to book ancillaries such as extra legroom seats.
Travelport was the first GDS operator to be granted NDC Level 3 certification from IATA. The company says this makes it well-positioned to support QDP as Qantas prepares to deploy NDC content later this year.
Stephen Shurrock, chief commercial officer at Travelport, said: “This agreement is testament to Qantas’ commendable forward-looking vision. Travelport is proud to be a global pioneer of NDC connections with the airline. Whether it’s the deployment of Rich Content and Branding or our new NDC capabilities, Travelport is uniquely equipped to support Qantas in optimising content distribution globally.”
