Travelport has signed a distribution agreement with Air Asia, which will see the carrier distribute all of its fares and ancillary services through the technology firm.
Travelport-connected agents are already able to book flights and ancillaries from four other carriers under the Air Asia Group – Air Asia Malaysia, Air Asia X, Indonesia Air Asia, and Thai Air Asia.
The new agreement means that agents will also be able to shop, compare and book Air Asia India flights and extras alongside those offered by traditional carriers in the same booking system.
Travelport’s managing director for UK and Ireland Simon Ferguson, said: “India is a key region for Travelport and we are delighted to have Air Asia India on board.
“I am confident that they will increase their bookings and generate more brand awareness as their offering becomes available on more than 67,000 travel agency desktops worldwide.”
