Online booking specialist Traveldoo has opened its first UK office in London.
The Paris-based company, which was purchased by online travel giant Expedia in December 2011, is expanding for the first time outside France as it looks to drive growth internationally.
Traveldoo’s UK operation is being led by industry veteran Julian Mills, who was previously chief commercial officer at P&P Associates, owner of Chelsea Travel Management and Vibe Software. Mills joined Traveldoo last month as director.
Nabih El Aroussi, president of Traveldoo, said: “Julian has a deep understanding of the corporate travel market and we are delighted to have him starting our local operations in the UK and contribute to strengthen our cooperation with our partners and customers.”
Traveldoo will continue to compete with Expedia’s own inhouse TMC Egencia to grow its business in the UK. The new London office includes sales and marketing, as well as account management for its UK-based TMC clients.
Mills said: “Traveldoo technologies demonstrate a unique proposition to corporations and TMCs in the provision of end-to-end travel management solutions. I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead our international expansion plans and continued growth in the UK.”
