The Lufthansa Group has launched its new NDC Partner Programme and NDC Smart Offer in the UK and Ireland.
The group says the programmes encompass technology, servicing, offers and ‘strategic cooperation components’. The new website – lhgroupairlines.com/ndc – provides further details on Lufthansa Group’s NDC API solution, as well as information for corporates and travel agencies.
TMCs interested in using the free-of-charge NDC web platform SPRK can register to access the booking and servicing solution via the website. Agencies will receive an incentive to use the service until the end of the year.
As of 24 May, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and Swiss will launch the NDC Smart Offer in the UK and Ireland, which the group claims presents the carriers’ most competitive fares and ancillaries. These will reflect the discounts BBT reported on earlier this year, with a reduction of £17 on return tickets or £9 on singles for its European Light and Classic options, including routes from London, Manchester and Dublin to Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich.
Lufthansa Group achieved the highest level of NDC certification from IATA in 2017 and says it plans to continue investing in the distribution model to strengthen its offering.
Andreas Koester, senior sales director for the UK, Ireland and Iceland at Lufthansa Group, said: “The Lufthansa Group continuously aims to serve our local agencies with the best possible solutions, and the newly launched NDC Partner Programme and website will be of great support. We already have a number of agencies who are capable of receiving our NDC Smart Offers, such as our new most competitive fares, and we expect more partners to follow in the near future... Agencies who are not in the position yet to receive these offers via their API can also have access via SPRK.”
