Cross Country Trains has extended availability of ‘Advance on the Day’ tickets to corporate travellers from rail booking specialists Evolvi.
The ‘Advance on the Day’ initiative has seen Cross Country introduce across all its routes the opportunity for passengers to buy discounted ‘advance’ tickets within just 15 minutes of their train leaving the station.
After a trial period with travel firm TMG, Cross Country fares are now available to purchase through all TMCs using the ‘Evolving’ rail booking platform.
Tickets can be fulfilled as an m-ticket, Print Your Own (self-print) or via a ticket machine at the station.
Cross Country commercial director David Watkin said: “We are delighted to extend ‘Advance on the Day’ tickets to corporate customers through Evolving, opening up opportunities for more customers who often have to make a-mad-dash for an unplanned meeting out of town.”
Cross Country said other train companies close reservations for advance tickets between 18.00-23.59 the night before travel, whereas Cross Country advance on the day tickets will become available for sale when the industry-wide advance purchase window closes at 23.59.
Jon Reeve, trade relations director at Evolvi Rail Systems said: “We are excited to offer our customers such a flexible approach to buying rail tickets and are thrilled to be partnering with Cross Country.
“Today, corporates are more focussed than ever on improving efficiencies and optimising travel budgets wherever possible - last minute travel can be a costly and the extension of Advance on the Day tickets will make a significant difference.”
