SME travel specialist, Corporate Traveller, has partnered with Thrust Carbon and Trees4Travel to launch new emissions reporting and offsetting tools, the company announced on Thursday.
The company signed a global agreement with emissions data platform, Thrust Carbon, to enable customers to track and measure their carbon footprint, while the partnership with climate action group, Trees4Travel, will allow customers to determine the equivalent number of trees to be planted to offset carbon emissions. Tree planting initiatives are backed up with investments into United Nations certified projects to combat climate change.
Corporate Traveller global managing director, Tom Walley, said the introduction of these new tools is in response to changing customer needs and evolving traveller priorities.
“At a time when it matters more than ever, we’re making sustainable travel choices more visible and accessible to our customers by providing the reporting, guidance, tools and nudges needed to help them take positive action,” he said.
Thrust Carbon’s emissions calculator will be integrated into Corporate Traveller’s travel management platform Melon, where customers will be able to view emissions data for flights, hotels and car rentals and access a CO2 reporting dashboard.
A carbon emissions search results filter and sustainable hotel badging will also be introduced in the coming months. Emissions data will also soon be made available to customers booking travel both online and offline.
Trees4Travel will also provide a reporting dashboard and is available to all Corporate Traveller customers (excluding those in South Africa) regardless of the online booking tool they currently use.
