Travel and expense management firm Concur has acquired Contgo, the cloud-based mobile communications and messaging platform that won Best Specialist Business Travel product at this year’s Business Travel Awards.
Concur says the acquisition will help will bring duty-of-care benefits to clients, by consolidating and matching booking data with risk intelligence to improve location-based traveller tracking and communications. It cites other benefits including car-sharing on airport transfers, synchronizing travel plans with colleagues, and discounts and offers.
Concur executive vice-president Michael Hilton said: “The Contgo team developed an award-winning solution for companies to track, locate and communicate with employees regardless of their location. Working together with the Concur eco-system of application developers, customers and suppliers, we plan to deliver a variety of new location-based applications that benefit companies and their travellers.”
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Concur added that its combined offering with Contgo “will be the only duty-of-care solutions on the market to monitor travel regardless of the source of booking – supporting the trend of open booking.”
