Priority Pass owner Collinson Group has partnered with indoor mapping and wayfinding specialist Locuslabs to integrate its airport location services to Priority Pass members.
Locuslabs’ location-as-a-service technology is used by a number of airlines and technology companies. It incorporation into the Priority Pass app will allow users to locate lounges and understand how busy certain facilities are, such as security wait times, as well as seek out other benefits within terminals.
Additionally, those with push notifications enabled can receive recommendations for services upon entering an airport to help them locate lounges and access exclusive discounts.
The Priority Pass app will run an update in the coming weeks to include Locuslabs features, with initial airports to be covered including Dubai, Hong Kong, Heathrow, Gatwick, Singapore, Manchester, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Mexico City and Istanbul Ataturk. More locations will be added in the coming months.
The two companies are also collaborating on other technologies, such as augmented reality.
Christopher Evans, joint CEO of Collinson Group, said: “Feedback from Priority Pass members consistently highlights the opportunities that contextually-aware mobile technologies can create as we look at smart ways to help and increasingly choice-rich traveller to make the very best use of their time at airports and other transportation hubs.”
Campbell Kennedy, CEO of Locuslabs, added: “As part of a core focus on customer experience, Collinson Group is leveraging terminal maps and location services as a valuable tool for discovery, but also to facilitate a truly tailored and relevant experience for their mobile users. Locuslabs is extremely excited to realise the potential of the technology together.”
