Click Travel has introduced a new NDC-based connection with British Airways which will allow clients to avoid BA’s proposed fee for bookings through the GDS.
The technology-based TMC said that this new connection would make BA and Iberia content available through Click’s booking tool, Travel Cloud.
It means that bookings made through the online portal will not incur the £8 GDS fee which is due to be introduced by BA from November 1.
Simon McLean, Click’s executive chairman, said: “We’re delighted to be the first TMC in the world to go live with British Airways NDC content, meaning our customers will not only get a much better user experience, but they’ll also avoid the £8 distribution charge.
“We’ve been predicting a future based on direct connects for years, which is why we’ve invested so heavily in our direct connect aggregation technology to ensure it’s a breeze to plug in any number of airlines as they come on stream.”
