Travel management company CWT is adding new trip planning, management and collaboration functions to its myCWT platform.
The new features include share-a-trip functionality allowing travellers to give their colleagues a real-time view of their itinerary through the myCWT web portal and app, including any changes made to the trip.
CWT intends to further improve this feature later this year by giving travellers who want to join their colleagues on a trip the ability to replicate a shared itinerary by shopping for the same flights and hotels with one click.
The TMC is also simplifying how flight booking amendments are displayed, with travellers able to view change and cancellations rules, shop for alternative flights, as well as seeing the cost of changing their booking.
Another enhancement allows travel arrangers to search and book flights for colleagues using myCWT. When a particular traveller is selected in the system, that employee’s policy information and loyalty programmes are automatically pulled in from their CWT profile and applied to the booking.
Arrangers can already make hotel bookings for colleagues via myCWT, with car rental and train bookings set to be added “in the near future”.
Erica Antony, CWT’s chief product officer, said: “These latest enhancements to our platform will facilitate better collaboration between colleagues as the nature and purpose of business trips continues to evolve.
“With remote and hybrid working becoming the norm, we expect people will travel more for small meetings to get some face-time with their teams, increasing the importance of simple ways to co-ordinate itineraries and make changes quickly on the go.”
Earlier this year, CWT announced plans for a $100 million investment to enhance its myCWT travel management platform.
