Travelport has signed a multi-year global agreement with travel management company BCD Travel.
The deal expands Travelport’s and BCD Travel’s long-term partnership and will provide BCD’s agents with ‘Smartpoint’ – an interactive desktop technology tool for improving agent productivity and customer service.
The deal will also give BCD Travel access to Travelport’s Rich Content and Branding (RCB).
RCB enables airlines to more effectively control how their fares are visually presented and described on travel agency screens.
It allows agents to access photos, images and extended descriptions that Travelport claims will better inform and encourage customers’ purchasing decisions around fares such as cabin type, seat type, meals and ticket flexibility.
“Travelport has proven itself a dependable business partner for BCD Travel for more than 25 years,” said Rose Stratford, BCD Travel executive VP Global Supplier Relations and Strategic Sourcing.
“We’re enthusiastic about having our travel agents use Travelport’s innovative technology and deliver even greater value to our mutual corporate clients,” she added.
BCD Travel was fifth in BBT's top 50 leading TMCs 2014
