American Airlines and online travel agency Orbitz Worldwide have reached a settlement to end all lawsuits between the two companies.
Orbitz becomes the latest travel firm to reach a deal with American Airlines following similar announcements in the last few months from Travelport, which owns 48 per cent of Orbitz, and also tech rival Sabre to end litigation with the airline.
“The settlement requires review and approval by the court presiding over AMR Corporation’s restructuring,” said American and Orbitz in a joint statement. “At this time, neither company will have further comment.”
Orbitz, which is based in Chicago, owns a variety of online travel brands including its global corporate travel specialist operation Orbitz for Business.
