According to travel buyer members of the Association of Corporate Executives, more than half only have a “beginner level” knowledge of mobile payments.
In Airplus’ Mobile Payment white paper it outlines the advantages to a travel buyer of using mobile payment technology:
The expense tool can indicate at point of sale if a transaction is in line with policy or not.
Mobile payment transactions appear in the traveller’s reporting tool in real time, meaning travellers can manage the transactions immediately.
Policy management at point of sale is more effective but less intrusive.
Real-time payment data capture enables faster decision making.
More electronically captured payment methods means more, and more accurate, visibility of spend.
Mobile payment and expense reporting apps can link with GPS for policy refinement based on location.
Details such as project code or cost centre can be appended to on-trip payments.
