UK-based hospitality company QHotels has launched a new service
to offer hybrid meetings to “bridge the gap” between limited conferencing
abilities due to restrictions and virtual events.
Q Hybrid Meetings & Events is now available at all 21 of
the company’s hotels, including DoubleTree by Hilton, Delta by Marriott and
Accor brands. It allows organisers to create a conventional live event and
supplement with virtual elements. Both can be accessed via phone, tablet,
laptop, or desktop from anywhere in the world, according to QHotels. The
virtual element includes the ability to create a fully branded event with a
lobby, exhibition hall and conference space. Presenters can be both live and
streamed.
Sarah Harvey, head of business development and marketing at
QHotels Group, commented: “We believe that face to face is still the best form
of communication. However, we have to accept that this is not a realistic
situation at present. With Q Hybrid Meetings & Events organisers and
presenters can host roundtables and workshops, create virtual hang-out areas
and even generate an online dating calendar so guests can schedule one on ones
with either fellow guests or presenters. The events are all recorded and available
online 24/7 as either password protected or free access as long as desired and
can then be archived for future research.”
Harvey added that she believes some elements of hybrid
events will continue to be popular even after the pandemic is brough under
control. “That busy key speaker who normally takes a few days to fly in and out
in the meantime making a 45-minute presentation may in future decide to make
the address from his home or office. Our technology makes that and so much more
possible, now and in the future.”
QHotels Group said it is offering triple C&E Rewards for
meetings and events booked through 31 December 2020.
