Travel management company Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) is to launch a mobile application for its corporate clients and business travellers.
The company claims it is the first in the sector to develop the software, which will be available on the iPhone/iPad, Android and most other mobile platforms.
Buyers and travellers will also be able to access the app through a standard web browser.
The app will be integrated into the TMCs business platforms, HRG Online and HRG i-Suite.
The product is currently being trialled with clients using Windows 7 devices.
Company bosses said the app was developed in response to demand from some clients, but also a desire to stay ahead of its competitors.
Users will be able to check travel itineraries, make hotel bookings and access their corporate travel policy.
Flight and rail schedules can be viewed on the app, but it will not possible to make bookings in the short term.
However, HRG chief executive David Radcliffe said booking air and rail on the app would be available in the future when use of devices with larger screens, such as the iPad, becomes more prevalent.
Bill Brindle, the company’s group distribution and technology director, said: “Extending mobile access to our clients is an ongoing part of our drive to enhance the whole traveller experience.
“We recognise that the mobile channel continues to grow in importance, as more smart-phones and tablets come to market.
“Our latest development simply enables clients to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of immediate access to information and services whilst they are on the move.”
HRG said all actions undertaken by a mobile user are captured and available to travel manager.
The company said the app would be rolled out formally in the near future.
