Egencia has launched two new tools to help travellers feel confident about the safety of their trips and provide travel managers with global travel data to help inform decisions on business travel strategy during Covid-19.
The online TMC has launched a new business travel trend visualisation tool to help travel managers “make data-driven decisions about their return to business travel strategy”. It is freely available to all, not just Egencia clients.
The tool allows users to explore monthly corporate booking trends in a specific country or industry sector to understand how similar organisations are restarting their business travel programmes.
The information shown is based on travel data from Egencia transactions and is updated every 14 days. It provides three views of travel data: countries which are returning to travel, business travel trends and lodging trends.
The dashboard can show data at a global or regional level (Americas, Asia Pacific EMEA) or for four specific countries: the US, Germany, France and the UK.

Meanwhile, the company has launched a new risk management tool that is integrated into the travel booking journey.
Egencia Travel Advisor provides on-demand access to alerts and advisories, such as changes to travel restrictions and self-quarantine policies, and the health documentation travellers need when arriving into a country, as well as the hygiene standards of their chosen hotel, car, air or rail provider.
“Having this essential information while booking a trip plays a key role in rebuilding the confidence of travellers and companies needing to get back to travel to support their business,” the company said.
Sergio Fierens, senior director, technology at Egencia, said, “Egencia is taking a fundamentally different approach to supporting our customers’ risk management and their work to restore business travellers’ sense of wellbeing. Travellers want to be confident in their travel decisions.”
