The UK has been placed on France’s “green list” allowing unvaccinated travellers to visit the country without needing a compelling reason for their trip.
The further relaxation of France’s rules for British visitors took effect on Thursday (31 March) and was confirmed on Twitter by Guillaume Bazard, who is France’s consul general in London.
Unvaccinated travellers from the UK to France will still be required to provide a negative PCR test result taken up to 72 hours before arrival or a lateral flow test result within 48 hours of arrival.
Bazard also confirmed that fully vaccinated UK travellers, who have been able to travel to France without a compelling reason since mid-January, will now no longer have to take a pre-departure test.
France recognises travellers as vaccinated if they have completed their initial vaccine course within the past nine months or have received a booster jab in the same nine-month period.
