Travel management company CWT has recaptured the hotel management contract for Amazon after the e-commerce giant moved its hotel business to HRS in 2019.
The TMC’s global hotel division RoomIt will now provide hotel category services support – including sourcing, booking and rate reshopping – in addition to existing travel management agreements that encompass global air, rail and events. The TMC has serviced Amazon’s travel management needs since 2008.
CWT chief growth officer Belinda Hindmarsh said: “We are delighted that the strength of our relationship and offering has been recognised by Amazon and we continue to invest in technology and solutions that allow us to respond to the specific requirements of our clients and, as in the case of Amazon, deliver innovative hotel solutions that help them maximise the value of their business travel spend.”
The company, which recently upgraded its online booking portal, has onboarded US$7 billion in new client business over the last five years and maintained an average client retention rate of more than 96 per cent.
