The Business Travel Association has launched new online
courses in partnership with e-learning platform Travilearn and sponsored by car
rental company Avis. The courses are designed to help those who have been made
redundant or are facing losing their job as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.
According to the BTA, the short, bespoke online workshops
will launch on Wednesday, 23 September, with an introductory webinar taking
place today (22 September) at 1600 BST. The courses will be offered at the
discounted cost of £19.99 per person.
The courses, which are part of the BTA Cares initiative,
have been designed to support those who are looking for employment following
redundancy, as well as to identify and promote the transferrable skills they
have obtained during their career in travel.
BTA chief executive Clive Wratten said: “We’re delighted to
be partnering with Travilearn, supported by Avis, to develop and enhance our
BTA Cares programme. We can’t wait to give the travel community a well needed
boost by encouraging those within the travel industry to find support from
like-minded people and helping them get back on their feet.”
Karen-Maria McKenna, founder of Travilearn, added: “We are
thrilled to collaborate with the BTA. Their sector-renowned expertise and
diligence makes them the perfect partner for our shared e-learning platforms.
Their core values are ones that reflect our own, and we are looking forward to
helping those impacted by redundancy back into employment.”
