American Express Global Business Travel has unveiled a new crew and group logistics platform designed to simplify travel management for energy, mining and marine (EMM) companies.
The TMC said the new portal had been specifically created to meet the “unique requirements” of this specialist sector, including offering flexible booking options.
The platform is built in modules and can process up to 10 bookings per minute for those EMM clients with high-volume travel preferences. It has been tested using more than 500,000 transactions during 2025.
Amex GBT said the portal can integrate with client workflow systems to support both automated bookings and batch spreadsheet imports of travel schedules.
It can also offer multiple itinerary options to give travellers more choice, as well as providing support to both travellers and booking teams.
Swapna Nair, head of energy, mining and marine at Amex GBT, said: “The platform represents our significant understanding of, and commitment to our EMM and oil and gas customers.
“We have been testing and building this purpose-built technology with input and feedback from our clients to address the unique operational intricacies of these industries offering multiple booking options that fit their individual requirements.”
The TMC said the platform can follow client’s travel and payment policies, as well as providing real-time updates of travel disruption.
Amex GBT added that although it has been designed for the EMM sector, it could be used for clients in other industries such as media and production, technology, consulting and crisis response.
