Travel management company ATPI has increased its presence in Germany presence with a new partnership with TMC network Lufthansa City Center.
The new strategic partnership will give ATPI an expanded network in Germany which will benefit the TMC’s global clients.
Lufthansa City Center (LCC) is the fourth largest TMC network in Europe, according to the list of Europe’s Leading TMCs 2021, compiled by BTN Europe, and has a 2,000-strong team across Germany.
ATPI and LCC will also use each other’s international network of locations to meet client demand when necessary.
The latest development comes after ATPI strengthened its German presence in 2021 by acquiring travel agency Hamburg Sud Reiseagentur, which is also an LCC franchise, from Danish shipping conglomerate AP Moller-Maersk.
Jeroen van Hest, ATPI’s global head of corporate development, said the agreement with LCC provided the TMC with a “stronger pan-European presence”.
“LCC has a network of strongly rooted partners in Germany and beyond, and we believe this expansion of our footprint will benefit our existing clients largely,” said van Hest.
Markus Orth, LCC’s managing director for Germany, added: “This partnership with ATPI significantly expands our already existing network in one fell swoop with representation in more than 100 countries around the world.”
